Ayatollah Saeedi

The Custodian of Lady Masuma (PBUH) Holy Shrine stated that preserving the unity and cohesion of the Muslim society is a crucial and necessary matter and said, “We have many unifying factors such as Eid al-Adha and all Muslim officials and people should strive to preserve and strengthen these unifying factors and rituals.”

Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Saeedi, Friday prayer leader of Qom province made some remarks in the sermons of the Eid al-Adha prayer held in the Lady Masuma (PBUH) shrine in Qom on Sunday, July 10 saying that Piety is the driving force of mankind to achieve divine perfections and values and distance himself from any kind of evil or impurity.

The Custodian of Lady Masuma (PBUH) Holy Shrine emphasized, “The great test of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) was that God had given him the blessing of Prophet Ismail and after a while he asked him to sacrifice this blessing for God, and Prophet Abraham (PBUH) without any question decided to obey God.”

Stating that these trials are a major part of our lives, he said, “If we give up the blessings that God has bestowed upon us to the needy and the poor with desire and with the intention of getting closer to God, we will also be victorious in this great test of obedience.”

Ayatollah Saeedi said in the second sermon of the prayer that The 8th Shia Imam, peace be upon him, had a brother named Zayd, and as an advice to his brother, Imam Reza (PBUH) told his brother to fear God, because if we too reached positions of authority, it was due to piety, and if someone does not practice piety, he wouldn’t be one of us and we despise him.”

He considered maintaining the unity and cohesion of the Muslim community as one of the essential steps in Islamic teachings and said, “In the message issued by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to the Hajj pilgrims this year, the supreme leader emphasized on maintaining unity in the society, so all officials and people should strive to maintain such unity.”

Pointing to the fruits of unity, the custodian of Lady Masuma (PBUH) Holy Shrine concluded by saying that One of the results of unity is that the Arafa prayer is held everywhere throughout the Islamic world, and the Eid al-Adha prayer, which is a symbol of unity, is attended by a large number of people, so we have many unifying factors in Islam. We must strengthen these unifying rituals in order to reach Islamic unity.
